Universal Dyeing ๐ก
The Universal Dyeing datapack from Vanilla Tweaks is a Crafting Tweaks feature that allows players to re-dye colored items directly into any other color using dye in a crafting grid
๐ง How It Works
In vanilla Minecraft:
Once an item (e.g., wool, terracotta, beds, leather armor, etc.) is dyed, you canโt re-dye it unless it's white or undyed.
This makes it frustrating to change color themes or palettes mid-build.
With this datapack installed:
You can apply any dye to any previously dyed item, regardless of its current color.
Recipes are shapeless โ just combine the dyed item with any dye color.
๐งต Examples:
Blue Wool + Red Dye โ Red Wool
Yellow Terracotta + Purple Dye โ Purple Terracotta
Green Leather Tunic + Cyan Dye โ Cyan Leather Tunic
This applies to:
๐งฑ Wool
๐๏ธ Beds
๐พ Terracotta
๐ Leather Armor
๐ฆ Shulker Boxes (if dyed)
๐งต Banners (dye base color only)
โ Does not apply to Concrete or Concrete Powder โ those must still be crafted using traditional methods.
